Although our Treasurer, Patrick Dromgoole, was notified in mid-April by the NatWest bank that they had approved his mandate to take charge of the ISC bank account, he has still not been provided with the means to undertake on-line banking. Consequently, Patrick and our previous Treasurer, Terry Hare-Walker, will approach NatWest again to get this situation resolved.

India Post issue no. 239 has been delivered to ISC members. Our Webmaster, Srinivas Prava, has uploaded issue no. 240 to the ISC Website and the Editor, Deepak Jaiswal, has sent the PDF for printing. Current ISC members may download issues of India Post from the ISC Website.

Two volumes of Series 3 of the ISC Handbook have now been published, Volume 1, “The Origins of Mail by Rail in India 1860-1880” by Chris Bartlett and Volume 2, “The Sacred Cow Issues of Bundi”, a revision of the late Ray Benns’ Handbook by John Warren. These are now available from Amazon Print-on-Demand. However, in India they may be obtained from Madhukar Jhingan, who prints and distributes India Post

The material on two DVDs – “Indian Air Mails” and “Indian Air Mail Postage Rates until 1956”, published about 20 years ago by Jeffrey Brown, has been re-issued in a choice of format – on a memory stick or as a download. These have been produced by ISC member Piyush Khaitan, who is Chairman of the Air Mail Society India Foundation, in collaboration with the ISC. These may be obtained from Piyush (details are to be found in the advertisement in India Post issue no. 240).

Another ‘open’ Zoom Display meeting, the fourth of 2026, was held on Saturday the 25th of April and was attended by 20 ISC members.

MACAO 2026 Specialised World Stamp Exhibition was held from the 23rd to the 30th of May 2026 at Cotai Expo Hall A, The Venetian Macao, Taipa, Macao; eight ISC members received a total of 13 awards

2026 NAPEX (National Philatelic Exhibition) will be taking place in McLean, Virginia, US from August the 28th to the 30th. Information may be obtained by contacting John Warren at jw-kbw@earthlink.net.

Anyone accessing the ISC Website will have noticed a new format for the ‘landing’ page. The ISC Webmaster, Srinivas Prava, has been working on revisions and further amendments are anticipated.

ISC members BJ Gowtham and Andrew Titley have announced that they are launching a new site on the internet – “The Handstruck Postal Markings of India”. This is an update of the work first published in 1946 by Derek Hammond Giles (which has had several amendments over the years), which will be free, will require no login and will be constantly updated. More details of this initiative are available in India Post issue no. 240.
